Fergus Williams MP is the current Minister of State for Social Affairs and Citizenship. He is a member of the Liberal Democrats, working in a coalition government with the Conservative Party.

Fergus appears to be single, as he is shown openly flirting with an economist he calls a meeting with regarding one of his party's policies.

He previously worked in the public relations field, being employed by energy company nPower for several years, and has also served multiple stints in the Territorial Army.

Close friends with Adam Kenyon, he convinces him to leave his job at the Daily Mail and join as his special adviser prior to the events of Series 4.

in series 4 the character quite frequently clashes with his tory counterpart Peter Mannion who believes is outdated and has Glenn Cullen and Adam Kenyon as his advisors.
